I feel so amazing and very interesting happen because, everybody think he is not good of anything. First, I read his fanily story and I think so, too.But, now is different. I want he trait and I think have to study hard. He is very good of anything.I have to imitate he! And, so thank you to he and this news.

I am very interesting to this news. It is because Derrius's father is dead and his mom is drug addict. So other people that surrounding to Derrius said Derrius will is not good at anything. But Derrius broke prejudice and he studied very hard and get scholarship. He did not worry about scholarship so he studied harder and he get a very high GPA. I think prejudice is not good. I think person's ability is important to test people.

But my story's main character was different. That character's parents are divorced. So, the character make a problem everyday. I think, that character wanted to revenge to everybody. But it isn't honest.
I think, become respectableperson is better than revenge. Like a Derrius Quarles.

After reading the article I sat and wondered where is the key turning point for youth with so many obstacles to overcome. His mother is drug addict, and his father died why can;t all yout overcome these obstacles. Now, many of you will say he had many positive factors but some teens reject the positive events in their life and turn to lives of drug addiction, become runaways and end up in our legal system. I saw this for years an emplyee at a juvenile boot camp. What is the key age t send kids on a positive road? How come even when help is extended some dont succeed? Is it the home, the neighborhhod, peers lack of a quality education system? I am so impressed with this young man.......kudos!

I want to be like him I’m very impressed to him, because he has his sights set on being the Surgeon General, so that he can shape the public health policy. Everyone will want to have that job because the money. But I’m very sorry for him. His father was killed when he was 4 years old and his mother was a drug addict. It would be a very hard select to choose for him. If I was him I would stay home. It will be a very hard job to stay alone. I think that Derrius deserves respect.

It's rare to see a young african american man, from Chicago, succeed. I hope that once he settles into the career of his selection and looks back on the generations of people who have not made it as far as him, he feels a great since of heroism. it takes alot of courage to step up and make the decision to change things for yourself, especial when coming from the situation he did. It'd be nice to see him speaking at some of the schools he went to and to give some inspiration to other young men. To show them that hard work really does pay off, you just have to want it bad enough.
